KIHP 1310 AM Station Launch Celebration

On
December 17, 2009, the Most Reverend Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of the
Diocese of Phoenix, "flipped the switch" to launch Immaculate Heart Radio’s newest Catholic radio station
KIHP 1310 AM now broadcasting over the airwaves for all listeners within the greater Phoenix area.
The launch event took place at
Mt. Claret Retreat Center in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a beautiful day attended by
220 guests who enjoyed a lovely blessing ceremony by Bishop Olmsted followed by a short program and reception.
During the program, we received warm welcomes by Bishop Olmsted, Aleta Camille Speier, Monsignor John McMahon and the Knights of Columbus State Deputy, Herb Maddock.
Founder and President of Immaculate Heart Radio, Doug Sherman, addressed the group with stories of listeners whose lives have been dramatically changed by Immaculate Heart Radio. Fr. Branigan Sherman told the history of how Immaculate Heart Radio came to be and Patricia Lebreton gave her testimony of the change that has taken place in her life due to being associated with Immaculate Heart Radio. An attendee and volunteer had the following to say:
My family is so blessed to have been able to participate in a very small way to help with the kickoff of Immaculate Heart Radio here in Phoenix. Thank you both so much for giving us this opportunity. As I listen to the station, I am so filled with gratitude to God for blessing us in this way, especially during this Advent season. As we prepare our eight children to go out into the world, we now have a tremendous resource of help and hope. We have a radio program that contains the teachings of our beloved church. We as parents are learning truths that we have never been taught. What a gift! Words are not enough to say thank you.
--With a grateful heart, John and Anita Usher and family Chandler, AZ
Immaculate Heart Radio looks to a future of hope, truth and purpose for the listeners of
KIHP AM 1310.
