Responsibility Summary:

To help spread the knowledge, love and practice of the Catholic Faith through the fulfillment of the following responsibilities: Serve as the primary IHR fundraising representative in the local community, conduct parish talks and speak at community events, and perform fundraising activities. Ensure all activities promote the mission of Immaculate Heart Radio.

Typical Duties:

Fundraising

  • Parishes: Schedule a minimum of 30 parish presentations per year in assigned broadcast area(s). Deliver fundraising talks following all Masses during each scheduled weekend. Set up prior to each Mass, obtain pledge cards and clean up following each. Follow up with donors to correct incomplete pledge cards. Forward pledge cards to IHR’s main office for data entry.
  • Underwriters: Recruit program underwriters, negotiate and process agreements. Obtain announcement copy and submit to the production department. Serve as liaison between underwriters and Immaculate Heart Radio, ensuring announcement copy is submitted.
  • Other: Perform other fundraising activities as assigned.

Community/Public Relations and Events

  • Events: Assist with coordination and participate in various fairs, expos, pledge drives and community/fundraising events as a representative of IHR, developing prospective contributors to the apostolate.
  • Relationships: Establish and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with local parishes, diocesan office staff, key Catholic organizations, donors, potential donors and other community members soliciting support and opportunities for furthering the mission of IHR.
  • Public Service Announcements: Serve as the primary contact for Catholic organizations in assigned broadcast area(s) for receiving and processing public service announcements.
  • Catholic Breakfast Club: Support the local Catholic Breakfast Club
  • IHR Materials: Provide materials promoting the mission of IHR to parishes, donors and potential donors

General and Administrative

  • Actively participate in goal setting and action planning to achieve apostolate and individual objectives.
  • Participate in staff retreats, meetings and planning sessions.
  • Establish and maintain activity and contact database.
  • Support/coordinate local volunteer program.
  • Provide reports and documentation as necessary to the General Manager.
  • Coordinate and communicate with co-workers and leadership as necessary.
  • Provide support and training for co-workers as necessary.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, at least two years of sales/fundraising experience or any equivalent in education and experience that provides the above listed skills, knowledge and abilities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) Certification
